Watch: Get Schooled in Xinjiang Slang by R&B Singer Akin

Slang Dynasty is a series that unpacks the wide world of Chinese regional slang, internet colloquialisms, and assorted street-level jargon.

For this latest episode of Slang Dynasty, we’re joined by soulful R&B singer Akin, who hails from a small city in the Kazakh prefecture of Ili, Xinjiang. He’s hitting us with a phrase from his dialect that basically refers to doing not very much — perfect as summer approaches.
