Watch: Chinese Electronic/Post-Punk Act Re-TROS’s European Tour Documentary

Last year, Beijing-based post-punk pioneers Re-TROS (Rebuilding the Rights of Statues) unveiled their first record in nearly a decade. The electronic music-infused album, Before the Applause, brought them some traction internationally, with The Quietus naming it album of the month and Q giving it four stars upon its release.

This in turn led to a European tour for the band, with a handful of arena dates supporting Depeche Mode no less, and a series of US shows with Xiu Xiu. The former tour has now been made into a 30ish-minute documentary by Zhang Jinglei, which goes for the standard tour documentary formula by featuring live footage and interview snippets, but also has the band members looking pretty apprehensive when they get to see the size of some of the venues for the first time.
