Adam Chen, Founder & CEO of CREATEC / Chairman of Shanghai Creative Collective

With over 15 years of advertising experience and East-West savvy, Adam has made his mark on the advertising industries in Toronto, New York, Shanghai and beyond. Adam serves as the CEO and Executive Creative Director of CREATEC, a leading Shanghai-based, cross-cultural communications agency he co-founded in 2014. CREATEC’s clients range from Ballantine’s to Maybelline, Taobao, and Philips. In 2017, CREATEC was named China Advertising’s Independent Ad Agency of the Year. In previous Creative Director roles and senior positions across North America and China at Razorfish, Leagas Delaney, DraftFCB, BBDO and Stirred Creative, Adam has earned numerous industry awards for his print and television campaign work for brands such as Lay’s, MasterCard and KFC. Adam is also the Chairman of Shanghai Creative Collective, a dynamic non-profit community of the city’s top young creative professionals.

Emily Cheung, Founder, Shake To Win TW 赏游Platform / Co-Founder & Managing Director, CREATEC / Cultural & Heritage Columnist at 中国广告 (China Advertising)

Emily is co-founder of the fast growing SAAS travel platform, “Shake To Win,” (STW) launched in 2017. STW is a global travel lifestyle experience platform for bringing together outbound Chinese independent travelers with international travel destinations and their local businesses keen on tapping into the explosive growth of this FIT travel segment. STW’s mission is to help preserve cultural heritage across countries through sustainable tourism. Emily is an avid adventurer, which has allowed her to set foot on all five continents and in over 80 countries, and to share her experiences through her travel blog and published journals. With over 10 years of digital marketing agency and data analytics experience, Emily is also Co-Founder and Managing Director of CREATEC, a full-service cross-culture communications agency founded in 2014 and recently named China Advertising’s 2017 Independent Ad Agency of the Year. She has nourished the growth and transformation of the CREATEC as well as many of its client brands, including Ballantine’s, Coty Group, Zegna, C-Trip, Descente, GNC, Target China, and Walmart China. She is also Co-Founder of Shanghai Creative Collective, a dynamic non-profit community of the city’s top young creative professionals, where she helps produce its slate of MADNESS events and more.

Zak Manion, Innovation & Analytics Associate Director at ABInBev

Zak has ten years of experience in analytics and is currently working in Shanghai on the Innovations and Analytics team at AbInBev (百威英博) – the world’s largest beer company. Here, he is running some of the first AI Machine Learning projects that AbInBev has ever done in the region.  Projects are specifically focused in the areas of risk management, budgeting, discounts, IOT, and procurement. On the personal side, Zak grew up in the Northern California mountain range – one of the highest locations in North America. He arrived in Shanghai in early 2012 – just in time for the China boom in ecommerce, social media, and tech – fascinating times. He’ll be around to play anyone in a game of pool, baseball, chess, tennis, or a bike ride!

Adrian Lai, CEO and Founder of yumi and System&Co

Adrian Lai built his career helping brands innovate through culture and technology. He is the Founder of yu-mi.us, a new way for independent brands to set up WeChat shopfronts with built-in social commerce at light speed. He also runs System & Co., a contemporary studio working with the likes of 88rising, MISSBISH, and WeWork. Adrian arrived in China in 2009, leading the digital team at Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai developing award-winning campaigns for brands such as Nike, Converse, Beats by Dre and Tiffany & Co. After that he was Head of Culture Marketing at Red Bull China bringing properties such as Red Bull Music Academy to China, before starting up yumi and System & Co.

Ruby Chui, Founding Partner at Brandnographer

Ruby is a founding partner at Brandnographer™, an insights consultancy firm that transforms foresight to business. She has been nominated by the World Economic Forum as a founding member of renowned Global Shapers organization’s Shanghai international hub. She is also a guest speaker of Swissnex and Hong Kong Design Institute where she has shared her perspective on branding, innovation and foresight.
