Our photo theme this week is China Pride. As the country’s biggest Pride celebration continues in Shanghai — in sync with Pride events across the world — we spotlight some of the organizations working throughout China to improve LGBTQ rights and awareness, often in extremely challenging circumstances.As part of ShanghaiPRIDE, last week saw the Shanghai Conservatory of Music host China’s first ever Queer Choir Festival, supported by dating app Blued. Entitled “The Journey of Light”, the concert featured LGBT and LGBT-friendly singing groups from Chengdu, Nanjing, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Urumqi, and Shanxi.Here are a couple of videos from the concert:Photo: ShanghaiPRIDE
