Founded in 2017, RADII provides a unique and insightful look into today’s China, cutting through the noise to uncover dynamic stories that upend clichés and create a deeper understanding of China’s role in creativity and culture across the world.

The Lifestyle Editor will report to the Managing Editor and is expected to populate RADII’s Lifestyle section with engaging, insightful content that captures a growing audience of young readers all over the world.

In this role, you will be writing and editing daily, as well as setting and sharing long-term editorial strategy with relevant teams, and working with data and Marketing teams to iterate and implement editorial strategy. The ideal candidate is a capable, strategic-thinking project manager with strong editorial skills and demonstrable domain expertise in either China’s fashion or food scenes – or even better, both.

This candidate should passionately devour news related to China, and have their finger on the pulse of trends and stories that resonate with young readers. 

Most importantly, you should have a strong desire to carry out RADII’s mission of creating new bridges of cultural understanding via original, incisive, and youthful reporting on today’s China.


  • Creating an editorial plan for the Lifestyle section and managing a team of contributors to populate regular content under this section
  • Recruiting and maintaining relationships with an ongoing database of freelance contributors
  • Writing, editing and publishing contributions to the Lifestyle section 
  • Supporting the Managing Editor in overseeing the Society section as well as other editing tasks outside of the Lifestyle section as and when they arise
  • Working with the data team to analyze user data and iterate editorial strategy based on user feedback, data and SEO considerations
  • Working with Marketing team in generating necessary collateral to pitch potential content partners and brand sponsors, and generate leads when necessary
  • Coordinate with Managing Editor to allocate resources, set clear deadlines, and align on the publication schedule
  • Participate in weekly “all hands” and editorial meetings
  • Assist in other company-wide tasks as and when needed, and represent the company at public events


  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • At least 3-5 years of full-time experience in editing, journalism, communications, or related experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong editorial judgement, and a track record of quality editorial work
  • Clear domain expertise in at least one of the following areas in relation to China and Chinese youth culture: fashion, food and drink, wellness or travel
  • A working knowledge of SEO, basic HTML and familiarity with data tools such as Google Analytics and Google Trends
  • Skilled in collaboration, multitasking, delivering under tight timelines, and adapting quickly to changing circumstances
  • Demonstrable experience working with brands and/or project management experience a plus
  • English language fluency required, Mandarin Chinese fluency preferred
  • A knowledge of contemporary China and youth trends in the country, and an ability to package these stories for an unfamiliar audience
  • A strong desire to carry out RADII’s core mission
  • A positive, can-do attitude, and ability to operate on a diverse, multinational team and to go above and beyond the tasks laid out in this job description

Salary for the Lifestyle Editor position is commensurate with experience.
