Position: Business Development Director

RADII is looking for a dynamic, results-driven business development leader with a focused and strategic approach to revenue generation. This person will be responsible for the development of new and existing relationships which will contribute to business growth. 

The Business Development Director will report to the CEO, and will be directly responsible for meeting yearly revenue goals. He/She will be expected to design and execute business plans and new growth initiatives that lead to the creation and expansion of company revenue streams. The successful candidate should ideally have extensive business development experience in both the digital media industry and the agency world, and come in with existing relationships in these spaces.

As a part of the executive team, he/she will work cross-functionally with the editorial, marketing, and product teams to ensure that resources are being efficiently coordinated, and projects are being executed effectively and on time. Being able to effectively communicate and manage key partners/client relationships is essential. 


  • Strategically approach and create plans for the growth and development of potential advertiser relationships from a short, medium and long term perspective. 
  • Set and achieve annual and quarterly revenue targets through not only selling bespoke creative and advertising solutions to clients, but also executing on innovative new business models.
  • Identify new opportunities for revenue growth via affiliate and ecommerce models 
  • Generate new leads, proactively approach potential clients (both brand-side and ad agencies), screen potential business opportunities, lead and facilitate pitch logistics.
  • Serve as a new business resource and actively pursue new revenue sources and provide leadership in strategic development of new business. 
  • Be on top of relevant market trends, client needs, expectations and opportunities as well as shifts in the competitive landscape. 
  • Effectively manage multiple accounts and projects at once, coordinating resources efficiently while maximizing productivity. 


  • At least 5-7 years of experience at a large digital publisher, media company, and/or agency.
  • Solid track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets.
  • A problem solver who understands the current trends and intricacies of today’s media/advertising and the market gaps.
  • Has a strong contract base among agencies and a network of direct clients.
  • Deep understanding of youth marketing and solid knowledge of the marketing and advertising landscape both within China and the West.
  • Foreword thinking and has understanding of changes taking place both in digital media and ecommerce sectors 
  • Flawless presentation skills and the ability to lead strategic conversations that navigate the needs of RADII and the client.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships both externally and at all levels of the organization.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin – must possess excellent English communications skills, with professional fluency in Mandarin highly preferred.
  • Based in Shanghai.
