At Radii, we want to write about China from China, to ask questions about it in new and thoughtful ways, and present stories you won’t find elsewhere. Want to join us? We’re looking to fill out our editorial team, specifically these two (paid) positions:

VISUAL EDITOR: We’re looking for someone who can help us shape our visual identity, from the way stories are presented to the way videos are cut.

How can we make our stories more visually appealing? This could include creating GIFs, editing videos, creating illustrations and/or graphic designs, etc.; it could also mean curating videos or creating photo essays, helping initiate video/photo projects, etc.

The ideal candidate would have a background in graphic design and/or illustration — knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. — and can create visual content to accompany select stories. Additionally, someone who understands the visual arts scene in China, including but not limited to photography, video, art, etc., and can curate content such as viral videos, write about hot topics, noteworthy exhibitions and events, profiles, etc.

It’s an editorial position and we’re a small team, so we’re looking for someone who can commit to our mission.

This can be a full- or part-time position, with commensurate pay.

TECH WRITER: Someone with a passion for the Chinese tech scene, loves gadgets and new apps, and can help explain all the cool stuff happening on the Chinese Internet and in the Chinese tech world. Someone with discerning news judgment, who loves writing, understands blogging for a consumer audience and can whip up interesting, informative, factually accurate posts in a timely fashion. Part-time, about 15-20 hours per week.

We want to know that you’d enjoy working with us and helping our community grow. Show us your work – if it’s on the Internet, send us some links. Ask questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
